Starting from scratch
community documentation getting started

As we are going to give the students the assignment to perform some metamodeling work in order to create the application library supporting some subset of the particular modeling language, I would like to ask you if you could suggest us the most efficient way of doing this. The problem is that, as far as I could see, there is no documented way from the
Development toolkit to create the new application library from scratch - only to extend the existing one (e.g. by adding new classes, attributes, etc).

Recalling the tutorial I attended last September I still remember that there was a predefined example library we customized - not a new library we created.

Our proposal to get your students started would be the "Empty" library that is included within your installation kit as the default library (in the installation directory of ADOxx "adostd.abl).

To get things ready for development, you can simply export the library that is provided by default, use the attached completely empty one, or use the one available in the tutorial packages on adoxx.org and re-import into the database using the Library Management Functionality in the Development Toolkit. During the import a new unique name has to be assigned to identify it by the students.

Download Tutorial package: Package (within the ZIP archive, you find the actual Tutorial Libraries in the folder "Tutorial_Library)

Empty ADOxx13UL1 Library: attached as ADOxx13UL1 - Empty Library.abl
