Technical Questions and InstallationGeneral technical questions and questions related to the ADOxx installation processRE: Error during ADOxx installation: Failed to install Microsoft SQL ServerMateusz Dziedzichttps://www.adoxx.org/live/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=&messageId=9384272017-07-10T06:59:49Z2017-07-10T06:56:47ZThere can be multiple reasons for this issue. Two of the most frequent ones are:
1) No internet connection during the installation
2) A Windows update is waiting in the background

There are two possible solutions on how to solve this issue depending on the reason why it occurred:

a) Check the Internet access during the installation of the Microsoft SQL Server instance:
Please check if you have an existing connection to the Internet while running the installation of the Microsoft SQL Server instance. This can be done in the Control Panel of your PC (Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center).

b) Download and install the SQL Server manually:
You can either use the database engine installation file included in the ADOxx Download package or alternatively download the database engine installation file directly from the Microsoft website. For further information please have a look at the Non-Latin Database Instance Installation Guide.

.Mateusz Dziedzic2017-07-10T06:56:47ZError during ADOxx installation: Failed to install Microsoft SQL Serverhttps://www.adoxx.org/live/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=&messageId=9365312017-07-11T13:06:47Z2017-07-08T12:31:16ZI was trying to install ADOxx, but during the installation I got the following error: “Failed to install Microsoft SQL Server (instance ADOXX15EN). There are different providers of virtualization software for several operating systems. An example of such virtualization software is VirtualBox (Oracle).

2.Installation of Microsoft Windows as a guest operating system
After installing the virtualization software, you need to install Microsoft Windows as a guest operating system on the virtualization platform.

3.Standard ADOxx installation
After completing the previous steps you just need to install ADOxx on the Microsoft Windows guest operating system. For this purpose you have to follow the standard ADOxx installation procedure: ADOxx 1.5: New Installation Guide

Furthermore, you can take a look at the example Installation of ADOxx on a Macintosh operating system using the VirtualBox virtualization software. The procedure is similar for other operating systems.

Mateusz Dziedzic2017-07-07T10:36:32ZIs it possible to use ADOxx having a non-Windows operating system?https://www.adoxx.org/live/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=&messageId=9355182017-07-11T13:14:01Z2017-07-07T07:49:35ZHallo!

I just wanted to install ADOxx to try it out, but I realized that ADOxx can only be installed on a Windows operating system. The non-unicode setting of your "Language for non-Unicode programs" needs to be the same as the instance collation used for ADOxx. There are two possibilities to solve this problem:

a) Adapt the non-unicode settings to collation:
Please have a look at the collation of the database instance. By default, ADOxx creates a new instance called ADOXX15EN with collaction "Latin1_General_CS_AS". In the PCs control panel, you can switch from "Non-Latin" to a Latin codepage (e.g. English), performt the required restart and re-run the installation. The drawback of this approach is that ADOxx won't store "Non-Latin" characters properly.

b) Remove current instance installation and create a new instance ADOXX15EN with "Non-Latin" collation:
Alternatively, and in case you want to be able to enter "Non-Latin" characters properly, please remove the instance ADOXX15EN using the "Remove software" functionality in the Control panel. After removal has completed, setup a database instance with "Non-Latin" collation manually using ADOXX15EN as an instance name and (detailed steps are available here:http://www.adoxx.org/live/installation-guide-15-other-collation) and re-run the ADOxx installation.

NOTE: If you go for solution (b), you will loose all the content of the SQL server instance ADOxx15EN (e.g. libraries, models, ...). Therefore if there are some work, which you want to save before than please perform first solution (a), do a backup, and switch to solution (b).
Mehmet Albayrak2016-06-03T06:02:10Z[alogin-22] Login Errorhttps://www.adoxx.org/live/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=&messageId=5781352017-07-11T13:16:14Z2016-06-03T05:45:44ZI used Adoxx three month ago for a projekt. The reason for that can be a network reset (communication to/from ODBC interface over TCP/IP). The user is then blocked for about 5min and should be again available for login afterwards. In case this does not solve the problem, please try to restart the database server (via the Microsoft Windows Service Manager - "Run" -> "services.msc").

In case this does not solve the issue, please let us know to investigate further!Wilfrid Utz2015-09-28T08:02:47ZThe user is already logged in to ADOxxPhilipp Küllerhttps://www.adoxx.org/live/c/message_boards/find_message?p_l_id=&messageId=3747102017-07-11T13:16:41Z2015-09-27T17:45:46ZDear ADOxx Team,

I try to log in using the administration toolkit, but this is not possible as "The user "Admin" is already logged in to ADOxx!
