The installation guide is structured in three chapters:
A. Prerequesites:
Steps needed before starting installation (resources, checks to be done).
B. Database installation:

C. ADOxx Installation |
The installation of ADOxx on a pre-configured system is triggered by double-clicking the "setup.exe" file of the extracted installation package ("<ADOXX_PACKAGE>\setup.exe"). IMPORTANT: an installation of InstallShield script engine needs to be available on the system. In case installation aborts with an error message related to InstallShield script engine, please install isscript.msi first (file location: "<ADOXX_PACKAGE>\isscript.msi" IMPORTANT: to run the installation, a valid database needs to be available. Please follow the steps above to install and configure the database BEFORE executing the tool installation. The related error message is shown below. - Trigger installation wizard by clicking on "Next":
- Enter customer information:
Enter user name and organisational information to proceed with the installation. Select whether ADOxx should be installed for anyone using this PC or for the current user only. - Select setup options:
Change the installation path if needed. The setup option (features and database installation checkbox) should not be changed. - Enter installation code:
Enter the information on the license sheet. If you don't have a license sheet yet, please ask for one to be issued at download@adoxx.org - Define default language:
Select the default language and proceed with the installation by clicking on "Next" - Confirm and start installation of ADOxx:
Click on "Install" to trigger the installation in accordance with settings defined. - Running installation procedure:
The installation is executed. In a first step the necessary files are copied, the tool is registered and finally the database is initialized. - Connect to SQL Server:
The password of "sa" needs to be provided to connect to the default instance (the default instance is internally named "MSSQLSERVER").The initialisation is triggered after provision of the password and clicking on "OK". The installation wizard provides continues updates on the progress of database initialization. - Database initialization completed:
A success message completes the database initialisation. - Installation completed:
A success message completes the installation wizard. The tool is available in the start menu in a program group called "ADOxx 1.3 (English)". |
