ADOxx 1.5: Existing DB Installation Guide
This installation guide is applicable in case you already have a running and supported database engine on your system. Supported database systems are listed on the hardware/software requirements page
In order to perform this type of installation, the database engine must be up-and-running, configured in "Mixed-mode authentication" and the collation must correspond to the non-unicode settings of your Microsoft Windows operating system!

Please note that ADOxx installation on WindowsVista/Windows 7 is not supported. However, you are invited to follow the steps below to install ADOxx.
The preparation phase represents all steps to be taken before executing any installation procedure on your PC.
- Download the following package(s):
- Extract ZIP package:
Extract the ZIP file at a location of your choice. The package contains all necessary installation files to setup ADOxx on a Windows based system.
The figure above shows the package content. In the following the location of extraction is referenced as <ADOXX_PACKAGE>.
Check for authenticiation mode of database instance:
This can be done using e.g. Microsoft SQL Management Studio (free download at http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=8961) or by following the steps detailed on this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/322336 for version 2005 and lower, or here https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188670%28v=sql.110%29.aspx for 2012.
In addition the "sa" password is required to perform the database setup.
In case your instance is configured in for Windows-only authentication make sure to adapt before continuing and remember the SA password for further steps.
